Hi,

We use a CMS system.  Our URLs look like this:

www.MyDomain.com/MyPage.ASP?PAGE=1234
www.MyDomain.com/MyPage.ASP?PAGE=1235&PRODUCT=ABC123

We would like instead to have:

www.MyDomain.com/Home
www.MyDomain.com/Product/ABC123

I understand in principle that Rewrite can do this.

The CMS product allows us to add new pages easily, all Content is stored in a database and we only have ONE actual file - i.e. MyPage.ASP.

I can enhance the database to include a "Friendly URL Name" in addition to the PAGE number.

How would I get the Rewrite to "know" about new pages?

Or do I just get Rewrite to rewrite the URL to NewPage.ASP with the original, friendly, URL as a Parameter, and then NewPage.ASP can look up the parameter in the Database and work out what the PAGE number is?

Thanks

Kristen

Your last assumption would be the best, but it depends on your CMS system. From ISAPI_Rewrite site the rule would be like that:

RewriteRule /([^/]+)(?:/([^/]+))?/? /MyPage.ASP\?PAGE=$1(?2&PRODUCT=$2) [I,L]
