I use a system on my website that resizes images on the fly. The progam can accept either a URL or a file path.

If I use the URL method the program gets blocked and I'd like to understand why so that I can add the correct details into the referrer or user agent fields.

Looking in the log files I can see the component making the request for the image. It has the IP address of the server but the referrer and the User Agent fields are both empty.

I added ? and also * to the user agent white list but the request still gets blocked.

I have ? added to the referrer white list so I can't understand why the request is getting blocked.

A typical request looks like this:
[DateAndTime] GET [ImageURL] - - [ServerIPAddress] HTTP/1.0 - - 302 294

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance :o)

Download latest version of HotlinkBlocker and put @^$ in the referrer white list to allow empty referrers. Or better allow empty user-agents by adding @^$ to the user-agent white list.
