We are redesigning a site - going from static to dynamic.  The site is heavily indexed in search engines.  I would like to point or redirect specific URLs (.htm pages in the old site) to specific pages in the new site.  Will ISAPI Rewrite do the job?  If not, can you please suggest a product or method to accomplish this?

Thank you.

Please explain your old and new link structure in more details. ISAPI_Rewrite could be of help here.

old:  http://www.domain.com/tools.htm

new:  http://www.domain.com/category.aspx?categoryid=3

I know I can use ISAPI_Rewrite to make the new URL "more user friendly."  However, that is not what I am asking for here.  Rather, I need something that will automatically redirect the old link to the new link.

Thanks

Unfortunately it is not possible to create general rule to rewrite your old URL into new one because it does not contain required information. You will need to create a separate rule for each old URL to directly map every URL to the new ones. How many URLs you have on your site? It is not recommended to have more than 200 rules because it may slow down the server responses.
