Hello,

We are successfully using mod_rewrite to get content from a different web server. We need to change some links after the content is fetched from the server and before it's ouput to the user.

The appropriate mod_seo rule works fine and links get changed as requested, however the output HTML contains a bunch of strange characters, which seem to be inserted wherever the original content had non-breaking space and typographical quotes.

Characters look like this:

Any ideas on how to get rid of them?

Additional info:
1) the output HTML from the backend server contains <meta/> tag specifying iso-8859-1 encoding
2) we have tried setting the charset explicitly, that did not seem to work

Thanks for any help!

Hello.
Please try to add the following code:
Code:
SetEnv content-type iso-8859-1

If it doesn’t work, please provide us with remote access to the server. You can send login credentials to [email protected]

Thank you.
