OK,

So I have installed the latest update - so now when I check for updates I get 'You are using the latest version of Helicon Ape Thank you!'

However from within APE manager if I open httpd.conf and do Ctrl F to find and type in SEO, i get no results. As a secondary test if i Ctrl F 'mod' i get lots of results.

So it looks like, whilst the version is the latest update, it doesn't appear to have enabled the mod_seo module.

Open to your thoughts as to how to resolve this please.

Many thanks for all your support so far.

Gareth

There's probably some issue with proper configs updating, we'll examine it.
Meanwhile, please put the following line into httpd.conf next to existing LoadModule lines:

LoadModule seo_module         modules/mod_seo.so

Save the config and retry the config I provided before.

Hello -

Thanks that has resolved that issue, However...

Having put the Rewrite Syntax in, it doesn't work

There is no URL rewriting happening the links are just sending the user to the original SEO unfriendly URL -

Please advise - thank you

Could you please enable logging in httpd.conf and provide rewrite.log records for the request in question.

Haven't you received my last answer?
I was asking:
"Could you please enable logging in httpd.conf and provide rewrite.log records for the request in question."

Hi Anton,

Sorry no, strangely I didn't get an email.

Ok More than happy to 'enable logging in httpd.conf and provide rewrite.log records for the request in question'

But have got no idea how to do this, are there some instructions somewhere?

I'd be grateful if we could get this resolved today, as I need to move on (As I'm sure you do to) and my client is getting very unresponsive.

thank you

To enable logging please put

RewriteLogLevel 9
LogLevel debug

into httpd.conf.
Then make the test request and attach rewrite and error logs records here.

Please try to completely uninstall Ape, delete Ape folder from the disk.
Then make fresh install of Ape and retry. The issues should disappear.
Also I'd like to see rewrite.log records.

Is that the only other option that we currently have? And if we do that, what guarantee do we have that it will work after we reinstall?

We've got 76 other sites that are currently using APE, and are getting well 10,000 visitors a day, many of which come from third party sites with traffic directed to APE rewritten URLs (Although not in the format that we want) needless to say, from what I can see your suggestion to completely uninstall and then reinstall, could mean rewritting all of the htaccess files.

More importantly if it doesn't work and I dont hear back from you for a day, what then happens to the other 76 sites?

When we had problems with installing & configuring APE in the first place, one of your colleagues 'Viacheslav Shynkarenko' remotely logged onto our server and resolved the issues.

How much longer do you thionk it is going to take before we can get this working correctly?

I would appreciate a quick response, as otherwise we will need to look elsewhere for another solution, in which  case we will move everything to that solution and request  a refund.

Apologies if this sounds irate, it's just that we have been having this issue now since last friday, we no joy as yet.

Ok, we can try it without reinstall.
And I guess the RDP will be great to resolve it in shorter term.
Could you send me the connection credentials to [email protected]
Please reference this forum thread to avoid confusion.
