Hello,

Firstly (Nice Product - thanks )

OK I have read some of the other posts regarding excluding directories from being rewriiten and have used the following, which appears to NOT re write any files/links in the /em/ directory - which is great.

#################################################
# LinkFreeze Configuration file
# Version 2, 2, 0, 81

LogRewrite=False
NotifyOrder=MEDIUM

@/(?!em/).*  --- .asp @(?!/em/).* [MoveExt]

Ideally I only want to rewrite links for any files that are not in a sub directory.

So any files that are in directories such as -

/em/

/js/

/wm/

/scripts/

etc

would not be rewritten...

Is this possible? please advise?

Also the tool appears to ignore Forms POST, am I missing something?

Thank you in advance

Please consider modifying your rule like this:

@/(?!.*/.*).* --- .asp @/(?!.*/.*).* [MoveExt]

Hi Anton,

Sorry that doesn't work, it appears to have void everything -

http://development.site.co.uk/companydetail.asp?id=xyz

Should be

http://development.site.co.uk/companydetail-id-xyz.htm

Where as anything like -

http://development.site.co.uk/js/companydetail.asp?id=xyz

or

http://development.site.co.uk/wm/companydetail.asp?id=xyz

Should be excluded from being rewritten.

There are a number of pages (top level) like Companydetail.asp that need to be URL rewritten.

However anything that falls under any subfolders should be excluded.

Hope you can help.

Many thanks

Let's try the following:

@/(?![^/]+/[^/]+).* --- .asp @/(?![^/]+/[^/]+).* [MoveExt]

Sorry Mate that didn't work either, perhaps it would help if I gave you a list of the subfolders I don't want links to (or on  files in) URL rewritten -

/coms/

/CVS/

/em/

/ExpiryNotifications/

/Images/

/jbe/

/lgns/

Hope this helps?

Many thanks

Please try to use this:

@/(?!(?:coms|CVS|em|ExpiryNotifications|Images|jbe|lgns)/).* --- .asp @/(?!(?:coms|CVS|em|ExpiryNotifications|Images|jbe|lgns)/).* [MoveExt]

Hi Anton, that works nicely, thank you.

Quick question - about rewriting canonical links? is this possible?

For instance I have a page that reads like so (Code) Within the head -

<% If Not descript.EOF Or Not descript.BOF Then %><link rel="canonical" href="detail.asp?ID=<%=(descript.Fields.Item("JBAID").Value)%>&amp;<%=Server.URLEncode(descript.Fields.Item("JBACategory").Value)%>-sector-jobs-<%=Server.URLEncode(descript.Fields.Item("JBATitle").Value)%>-jobs-in=<%=Server.URLEncode(descript.Fields.Item("JBALocation").Value)%>-<%=Server.URLEncode(SiteDetails.Fields.Item("JBSRegion").Value)%>&amp;advertised-by=<%=Server.URLEncode(descript.Fields.Item("JBCLName").Value)%>" /><%End IF%>

However when i vew source I'm getting -

<link rel="canonical" href="detail.asp?ID=19866&amp;Sales-sector-jobs-test+37-jobs-in=Portsmouth-Hampshire&amp;advertised-by=MalsonNash+Recruitment" />

So the detail page isn't being rewritten?

Any thoughts?

Thanks

"Quick question - about rewriting canonical links? is this possible?" - yes, sure it's possible, but I want to drag your attention to the
following:

in the link above you have dashes inside the query string parameters
and
the Linkfreeze pattern uses dashes to make SEO-friendly URL.

This will cause confusion when un-freezing the links, so please consider using ~~~ pattern instead on ---.
