Hi,

I have a form with get populating the querystring such as page.asp?id=blah

However, I have a rule setup on the form target page to change the page.asp?id=blah to

page-id-blah.htm and when keyed in directly to the browser that works. However the rewrite doesnt see be working from the form.

Is there something else that needs to be done? Do I need to manually rewrite the url within the form?

Could you please clarify what product(s) you are using. Please show the config(s) you have and tell what URL you have on the form.

Hi,

I am using linkfreeze server version(recently installed)

The form would have the url driving_lessons.asp with method="get"

I seem to have sorted the problem by building the link with javascript on the client side using script to manipulate the form target url.

However, I would like to know if the linkfreeze does do what I hinted at above...that is if you have a form with url

page.asp?id=2322

will the system redirect / rewrite the url to page-id-2322.htm ?

Can it do that by default?

Just in case I run into a similar problem in the future.

LinkFreeze has a Redirect flag to perform redirection of old style requests to new static form. This must help.

Does the redirect flag require a restart of IIS?

If so maybe thats why it didnt work for me.

I have the workaround with javascript url building working so I wont change it for now.

The changes to LinkFreeze config should be applied on the fly. IIS restart is not necessary.
