Hi there - I have a question about Linkfreeze and the 'rel=canonical' tag.

My site currently has a page structure like "" and other such horrors, with about 16K SKU's. I want to implement a mod-rewrite change of some sort, and Linkfreeze seems ideal, to make a url like ''.

However, I also have a site variant issue with a url like "" which creates some styling and layout changes.

To get round the duplicate content issues this creates I have been looking to implement the 'rel=canonical' tag site-wide. But - this is my question - I presume Linkfreeze can produce two separate 'flat' versions of my parametised URL, and if it can then should the canonical reference be the original (non-Linkfreeze) version of the URL, or one of the re-written Linkfreeze versions? Help and advice on this very welcome...

Thanks in advance, Richard H.

I want to clarify that Linkfreeze is capable of doing from,
but not what you specified. We advise you to use re-written Linkfreeze version as a canonical, and use Redirect flag in LinkFreeze config.

To make URLs like you may use ISAPI_Rewrite and mapfiles functionality.
The examples may be found here and here
